Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Hops Into a Vintage Jaguar After Wedding

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle Hops Into a Vintage Jaguar After Wedding

Just like in a James Bond movie, newlyweds Prince Harry and Meghan Markle drove an iconic vintage Jaguar after their wedding at Windsor Castle. The snazzy silver blue Jaguar E-Type initially went into production in 1968, but Jaguar Land Rover unveiled that it had electrified the vehicle to build what it named the E-Type Concept Zero, a zero-emissions version of what Enzo Ferrari once called "the most beautiful car in the world". Compared to the original E-Type, the electric model is quicker--with a top speed of 1 to 100 kilometers per hour in just 5.5 seconds, approximately one second faster than a Series 1 E-Type. The car is truly iconic and is part of historically elegant weddings. Last year, in Pippa Middleton and James Matthews' wedding, the couple hopped in to a 1961 E-Type that is touted as the oldest in the world. When Prince William wed Kate Middleton in 2011, the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge drive off a vintage vehicle that belonged to Prince Charles. According to USA Today, the 1969 Aston Martin DB6 MK2 Volante was a gift from Prince Philip and the Queen for his 21st birthday. It is still yet to be seen whether the newly named Duke and Duchess of Sussex get to keep the Concept Zero. However, what truly captured the attention of the world was its license plate, which will be their anniversary in the future.
