Audi Brings Electric Concept SUV to Geneva Motor Show

Audi Brings Electric Concept SUV to Geneva Motor Show

he German automobile manufacturer, Audi has planned its all-electric compact SUV based on Volkswagen Automotive Group’s MEB platform which will be presented at the Geneva Motor Show on 5th March of this year as a near-series study. The yet to be named Audi BEV will roll off the production line starting in 2021 along with the VW ID, and a compact electric car from Seat at the Zwickau plant.

The future compact SUV will be positioned as the premium electric car in the compact segment. The VW counterpart to the Audi BEV will be the Golf-size ID which the Wolfsburg company plans to launch by 2020. With this, Audi will field battery-electric models in more segments than Tesla currently covers, using a number of platforms which will be shared with Porsche and Volkswagen.

As per the company spokesperson, it is also said that the Audi will be presenting its four plug-in hybrids in Geneva. These four hybrids are set to hit the market by this year including a PHEV version of the Q5 SUV model.
