Mercedes-AMG GLC43 Sets the Porsche Macan in Its Sights

Mercedes Benz in-house tuner AMG, has gotten its tools out on the GLC compact crossover. The AMG GLC43, will be powered by a V6 Twin-Turbo, and the two-row utility vehicle will debut at the 2016 New York auto show. The 3.0-liter engine is rated to have approximately 362 horsepower and propels the 1,7 ton vehicle to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds. The top speed is limited to 250 km/h. The engine is mated to an incredible nine-speed automatic transmission that drives all four wheels. To improve handling at high speeds, Mercedes engineers tuned the all-wheel-drive system to distribute the total torque with 69 percent to the rear axle and 31 percent to the front axle. The body of the AMG GLC43 receives a new front fascia with different style of the air intakes, 20-inch alloy wheels and accents in chrome on the rear of the vehicle. The vehicle is to go on sale later this year.
